Pros and Cons of the LEGO Gingerbread House
I am particularly satisfied with the green gift and its pretzel bow! The heart-shaped present looks great too, including the 3x3 heart plate that was introduced at the beginning of 2019. Lavender 1x1 curved pieces are also provided and the miniature truck looks perfect in my opinion. This rendition resembles the model from Winter Village Fire Station, featuring layered wedge plates which create an impressive conical shape. However, this design offers superior texture and the decorations are more realistic, especially towards the top where trans-yellow diamond elements form the star. Only two minifigures are included which is unusual within the Winter Village collection, although I think additional characters may be unnecessary.

Apart from being a stunning display piece thanks to the highly detailed roof and decorative icing, I also appreciated the play features baked (heh) into the set. Like most Winter Village sets, a Light Brick is included in the set, to light up the fireplace by pressing down on the chimney. Speaking of windows, I also love the use of speckled purple and magenta bricks. The reflective speckles are not only eye-catching but gives the entire build this feel of whimsical magic – something you’d expect from a living family of Gingerbreadpeople. The next minor build before we get to the actual house is this little snow blower.
I absolutely love the roof on the gingerbread house, which gives this model its signature look. It mimics the look of icing on the gingerbread house which also doubles as a heavy cover of snow. The minifigure selection is limited but adequately populates the gingerbread house and I like the tiny gingerbread baby, even though it is simply represented by a printed tile. This adorable set is not the first gingerbread house produced by LEGO. While reminiscent of the 2019 model, the original gingerbread house was smaller and only available as a gift with purchase.
While there is no warranty information for the LEGO Gingerbread House, LEGO stands behind its products. If you’re unsatisfied with your purchase, they encourage you to reach out and/or return your set for a refund. Like most LEGO sets, the LEGO Gingerbread House is a bit on the expensive side. At the moment, you can purchase this set from major retailers for between $80 and $190. If you plan to buy, it should be soon; its almost-retired status makes it increasingly difficult to find.
